About

I was born and brought up in Belgium and moved to England aged sixteen. During my Art ‘A’ Level I made a pinhole camera and there began my photographic journey! At the same time I couldn’t get enough of Salvador Dali, Man Ray and Surrealism and still to this day the irrational juxtaposition of images and the power of imagination influence not just the images I take but also the images I then turn them into. Today my influences range from the small, thin but visible brush strokes of Impressionism to the beautiful paintings of enlarged flowers by Georgia O’Keeffe.

I am inspired on a daily and constant basis. Whether it’s nature whilst walking my naughty cocker spaniel, fashion, interiors, architecture, antiques, art galleries – you name it – my eyes are constantly seeking inspiration and finding it in colour, shapes, textures and of course flowers.

I studied photography at the City of London Polytechnic followed by a photography degree course at Salisbury College of Art and Design where my slightly alternative view on what I saw was never always that welcome!

I am passionate about floral photography and in fact most things floral. Not only do I enjoy taking the shot as I see it in front of me but from these relatively straight forward images I like to create a unique, enhanced, sometimes abstract, vibrant image.
I also like to experiment with multiple exposures, dried and pressed flowers and lightbox and scanner images. I then continue my experimenting in post production using Lightroom and Photoshop. Many of these compositions will celebrate shape, colour, light, texture and hopefully inspire you to explore the world of flower photography in new and exciting ways.

“I found I could say things with colour and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for.”
